Reliance Jio has made everything it can to get down the prices in Telecom Industry and turn the card towards Jio. Now it has come to feature phone where it offers 4G services and Jio services as well for free. The users have to pay an amount of refundable Rs.1500 which the user gets it back after three years. Customers are required to pay a fully refundable, one-time, security deposit of Rs 1,500 against every JioPhone to avoid potential misuse. Jio is charging users Rs 500 to pre-book the JioPhone.
The Mukesh Ambani-owned company is training hundreds of sales people, its own and those from largeformat retail chains such as The Mobile Store and Sangeetha Mobiles, for educating consumers on booking the JioPhone. “Our sales people will begin taking prebookings of the JioPhone for Rs 500 and will begin giving the phones when they arrive in September for an additional Rs 1,000,” said Subhash Chandra, the managing director of Sangeetha Mobiles.
Jio Phone Booking Started – Here is How You Can Get One
- How to book Jio Phone?
Reliance Jio JioPhone pre-booking started at 5.30 PM on August 24. To book JioPhone using the MyJio app, just open the app and tap on the Prebook Now option. You will be asked to enter your phone number and the pincode of the area you live in, and tap on Proceed. That’s it, you will get a booking ID on the app as well as SMS, which you can refer to while picking it up from the designated retailer.To book a unit for a friend or family member, simply input their phone number and delivery pincode and make the payment. In this case, the SMS will be sent to you as well as your friend’s mobile number, with the address of the retailer and booking ID.
- JioPhone Price
As said earlier, JioPhone will be free but with a Rs.1500 Security Deposit. A One time Rs 1,500 payment is against every JioPhone to avoid potential misuse. If pre-booked and paid Rs.500 extra, Reliance Jio says the amount will be adjusted against security deposit of Rs 1,500 at the time of delivery. Additionally, Jio will charge the remaining Rs 1,000 of the security deposit at the time of delivery of the device.
- JioPhone Delivery Date
The delivery will be within 3-7 days depends on the area that you live and the booking time. As Reliance Jio is using the First Come First Serve option, you can expect a late in delivery as well.
Jio Phone Specifications:
Reliance Jio JioPhone gets an Alphanumeric keypad, and a 2.4-inch QVGA display. Reliance JioPhone runs KaiOS. Users can give voice commands in 22 Indian languages to carry out tasks on this phone. JioPhone has a headphone jack, microphone, speaker, and FM Radio feature. There’s a 2MP camera on the back, along with a VGA front shooter. JioPhone will come with 4GB internal memory, 512MB RAM and support for a SD card to expand storage.
Reliance Jio JioPhone supports an SOS option, that can be activated by long pressing the number five on the keypad.
JioPhone delivery:
There is nothing official from Jio yet as far as the delivery of the JioPhone is concerned. The company, at the launch had said that the delivery would happen during the first week of September. The company had said that the phone would be available on first-come-first-serve basis. In fact, one of the retailers had also confirmed to India Today Tech that those who have registered interest for JioPhone on August 24 would be the first batch of customers to receive the JioPhone. This also means that the phone would be initially released in limited number and later people may have to queue at the Jio stores, similar to what we saw during the Jio SIM sale to get the phone.
