India Wins Mr World 2016 ! !
For the first time in the history of Mr World championship, Model and actor Rohit Khandelwal, 26, has become the first Indian – in fact, the first Asian – to have won the Mr World beauty pageant. During a grand ceremony on Tuesday at Southport Theatre, Southport, Rohit Khandelwal, who had earlier won the prestigious Provogue Personal Care Mr India World 2015 went on to win this prestigious title.
He beat 47 other participants from around the world to win the prestigious title. For the finale round, he opted for a tuxedo designed by Nivedita Saboo. Rohit also competed for various sub-titles at the pageant including World Multimedia Award, World Talent, Mobstar People’s Choice Awards and many more. The first runner up is from Puerto Rico while the second is from Mexico.
As per reports, Rohit Khandelwal had undergone rigorous physical training to gain optimum levels of fitness without turning bulky. Along with the physical training sessions, he also had to go through various grooming sessions. He was also given special Football and Circuit training to increase his endurance and perform the various physical challenges at the pageant.
Reacting to the major win, Rohit said, “I still can’t believe that I have won the Mr World title. Being the first Indian ever to win this title makes me immensely proud and ecstatic.” Rohit has received a cash prize of $50,000 along with the coveted title.
