Maheshbabu Has Chosen Siddhapuram Village of Mahaboobnagar
“After much thought K T Ramarao garu and myself have chosen to adopt Siddhapuram village of Kottur mandal in Mahabubnagar district. Looking forward to a constructive and meaningful journey ahead” –This is what Maheshbabu has posted just now on his Facebook page. Infact, Mahesh Babu, had earlier announced to adopt Burripalem village, near Tenali of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. Burripalem is his father Super star Krishna’s birth place. Mahesh, in his tweet, in August, also stated that he would also adopt a village in Mahaboobnagar district of Telangana. In response to a suggestion made by Telangana’s Information Technology and Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao, who appreciated Mahesh Babu’s recently released film “Srimanthudu”, the actor made this announcement on twitter.
It may be recalled that Guntur MP Galla Jayadev, who is the relative of superstar Mahesh Babu, is the inspiration behind the hero’s initiative. Jayadev had already told that Mahesh Babu would soon adopt Burripalem and address basic civic issues, like providing potable drinking water, internal roads and drainages. Jayadev is married to Padma, elder sister of Mahesh. Superstar Krishna had always a soft corner for his native village and during an earlier visit to the village in 2008, he said that he had always favoured shooting at Burripalem if the script demands rural setting. The village surrounded by flowing canals and paddy fields offer perfect setting for stories in rural background, he said. The news that Mahesh would adopt had spread in this small village. Sarpanch of Burripalem Samrajyam told that lack of funds had been a major problem in addressing basic civic needs. The village has no internal roads, she said.
In his last film Srimanthudu, Mahesh Babu played the role of a billionaire who adopts his native village which is in trouble. The actor has emulated the same in real life. Acting like an ideal hero, helping poor people and being the savior is pretty easy for anyone to do on screen. But, being the same person in real life is not something everyone can pull off easily. Apparently, Maheshbabu could. In his last film Srimanthudu, he played the role of a billionaire who adopts his native village which is in trouble. The actor has emulated the same in real life. After completing two schedules of Srimanthudu, his brother-in-law Jay Galla suggested that Maheshbabu should follow suit and adopt his father-Krishna’s native village Burripalem.
